It should be fine. I use mostly the old style cloth wire which is 22 gauge. Some fo the 4 conductor wire that you see on pickups is 28 gauge.

Thanks Walter. Last evening I ordered four 50 ft rolls of 22 ga tinned wire from Amplified parts. One red, one green, one black, and one white. The 24 ga wire that I have is part of a mess of scrap wire that I brought home from work. There is also some 20 ga wire and various solid core wires. When the new wire comes in Im planning to build a nifty dispenser for my workbench. Another question. What kind of wire is the bare ground wire that I have seen going to bridges?

Some are solid copper but any wire will do. Ground is ground. For Tele bridges fender mostly uses stranded wire. Most guitars with stud mounted bridges that Ive seen use solid wire. Like I said, any type wire will work.

Thanks Walter. The spools of wire came in today. Ive drawn up a plan to build a dispenser, and will work on it during lunch and breaks tomorrow and Friday.
