Current Projects

The Dragliners

In the past year, I've been sitting in on bass with the premiere "grungegrass" band here in the Houston area, The Dragliners. They've been burning up the music scene for a long time and it's a lot of fun to get to play with them.

The Front Porch Society

One of the best things to happen to me musically was getting to sit in with the Front Porch Society. It was the last few months of the final stand on the back deck of the Mucky Duck, but I experienced an insane amount of growth as a singer/songwriter in such a short time. People like Ben Hall, Nathan Taylor, Huke Green, Matt Harlan, Randy Hill, Jimmy Pizzitola, Steve Reno (and his mustache!) and all the other people who came through the back deck made it impossible not to learn something new and useful.

Past Projects

Harbingers of Happiness

Just like Spinal Tap, The Wayward Sons don't hold onto a drummer very long. Since that was the case and because Huke and I have a love for Coffee Shops and hole-in-the-wall venues, we started breaking out the mellow Harbinger sets. We play a lot of different songs in this setup, so it has become something very different than just a way to push Wayward material. Hell, our first out of state tour was a Harbingers tour.

The Wayward Sons

Sometimes it is good to come back to where it all began. I started out playing bass a youngster and here I was pulling on the old thud staff once again. It's a whole new ballgame singing and playing bass, but it's been working out since Huke pulls the major load of the singing duties. Nothing gets me more pumped than a Wayward set.

Econo

Combining members of the Veils of Ignorance and The Put-Downs, Econo brings a blend of political punk rock, silly garage rock and southern influences to the stage. The band was around from Spring 2006 until summer 2008. We shared the stage with bands like Micah Omega and the Mutations, Death Hell Battle Tank (ex-Fuckemos), Electricks, Uncomfortable Jams, The Delta Block, 500 Megatons of Boogie/The Squishees and many more. Our live recording caught the spirit much better than our controlled attempt. My vocals have come A LONG way since then.
