02/08/12 - The Calm Before the Storm...

With the new year has come a new laziness. I've been struggling with getting everything I need to get finished actually finished. The good news is that we've got Ben's album damn close to being finished. I'm working out a few new tunes for everyone to enjoy...hopefully. I'm totally not going to wait to record an album, they'll go up in various states on Bandcamp or on this site until I gather enough up to do an album. I'm in no rush. Honestly, most of the songs won't even make it onto an album, I'm sure...but you'll get to check them out.

As for shows, we're working on booking them. I've got some solo shows in the works for Waldo's. I may invite a guest to sit in with me for them, but I'd like to see how I can hold up with a long solo set. An endurance test of sorts. Wer're trying to hit the road some, as well, before the gas prices get super ridiculous.

Remember, on the Bandcamp site, I have put the album up for a free download. You have the option to donate some cash if you want, but it is available for free download, so you have no excuse not to check it out. Let's get the flyers out there so we can get some folks at the gigs!

That's all I have for now. Keep checking back!

01/06/12 - It's a Brand New Year...

Well, we've made it to 2012. I'll have to admit, 2011 was a pretty good year. 56 shows, over 6000 miles travelled, nearly 200 albums sold and a ton of new friends met along the way. I got confined to in-state shows only, but made it out to a lot of first time stops. There isn't much more I could have asked for.

Writing is the task at hand, so I don't think shows will be as frequent in the coming months. Of course, I may be wrong, some cool things could drop out of the sky, but for now, I'm planning on taking it easy. I did bass parts for Ben Hall's new album over the break and will be doing backup vocals and some resonator on some tracks, as well. I don't plan on recording another album for a long time, but I'm considering recording bits and pieces for release on Bandcamp as I create them.

Speaking of the Bandcamp site, I have put the album up for a free download. You have the option to donate some cash if you want, but it is available for free download, so you have no excuse not to check it out. Let's get the flyers out there so we can get some folks at the gigs!

That's all I have for now. I will get getting the site updated soon. Maybe a redesign, frequent blog updates, gear updated and all sorts of goodies. Keep checking back!

12/02/11 - It's Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Tomorrow, Huke Green and I will be holding it down over at The Dirty Bay Beer Company from noon to 4 pm as part of the Christmas on Texas Avenue festivities. If you're in the area, come visit us and say hi! We'll be selling CDs, shirts, playing 4 hours of tunes and more.

Later in the month, we go into the big city for a stop at Khon's on 12/9 and another at re:HAB on 12/10. Pencil at least one of those in, it'll be a good time. On the 16th, Nathan Taylor and I will be doing a set in Dallas at Opening Bell Coffee. It'll be a good time!

That's all I have for right now. Visit the Bandcamp site to buy the album and keep tuning back!
